In the Spring and Summer at Jeff's Auto some of the local muscle car enthusiats all meet up to go to one or another of the local car cruize's. They are alot of fun and a chance for all of us to show off our pride and joy. There is nothing like revin up the engine of one of these old muscle cars from the past. These cars are all fast and furious yet fun and beautiful and the people that own them love them. Jeff Besthoff said "I just drove the beast to get my hair cut and get some groceries. I love putting frozen pizzas and toilet paper in the back of the car, all jammed around the nitrous bottle!" Some guy came up and asked me if I race it, and if I had times on it. I said "yep! it went 10's last summer with the old motor" He looked at me like it didn't quite soak in all the way, and then said, "No S**t? And you take it grocery shopping too? It cracked me up seeing his reaction." These cars are truly works of art and the people who own them put their hearts and souls into them. So next time you hear of a car show in your town you should go check it out, its a great place to meet lots of people and take a transport back in time with the old cars.

My family and friends are a big part of my business. My family helps out when they can My son Logan works in the shop on weekends and Saturdays and in the summer. Many times all of us are in here on a Saturday afternoon. Some of the best times with my kids, niece and nephew are in the shop explaining how an engine works and working on our muscle cars or snowmobiles and telling my kids that someday thay might be in here with their kids. Connor likes to work with the welding equipment and at 12 he is darn good, I love to teach him. 
Or with my wife Amy who works her tail off making sure customers are happy and coming back. Don't get me wrong -- we like to go to snowmobile, go to the drag strip and race our cars as well! But a lot of special times come from just being in the same place at the same time -- and lots of times that happens at the business. The Shop is a major part of this family and we all work hard to make sure it runs smoothly for our customers.

My business offers great service. We strive for 100% customer satisfaction and will do what it takes to make our customers happy. THE ORIGINS OF THE SHOP
Jeff's Auto didn't start out as a bang, in fact it came from alot of hard work and sweat on the part of the shop's owner, Jeff Besthoff. After working for an A1 standard gas station for about a year and a half , pumping gas and running around doing odds and ends. Jeff went on to Trade School at Lincoln Tech and graduated as an ASE Certified Technician Top in his class. After graduating Jeff opened a shop in 1993 in Algonquin Illinois, at which time he did very well and worked very hard and eventually needed more space. In the year 2000 Jeff moved to his current location in Lake in The Hills which is twice the size as the last shop. The shop has been growing ever since. In June of 2006 Jeff and his wife Amy were Married. They have two kids (hers) Connor 10 and Logan 13 and currently live in Algonquin. Amy also works at Jeff's Auto, Managing the office. Logan hopes to work there and take over the company someday.
Jeff's Love of cars and the reason he became an auto tech started at an early age. When he was very young he would work on mini bikes and bicicles and anything with wheels. He would take them apart and put them back together again. It is no wonder he ended up owning an auto shop.
Jeff also drag race's his 1965 Malibu SS at Great Lakes Dragway and Byron Drag strip and he just recently built a new engine for his car (582). We all can't wait to see what numbers it will pull this summer. He bought his wife a 1965 malibu SS also and is building an engine for her also. Maybe you will see the cars at some of the local car shows this summer in North Western Illinois. If you want the schedule for the race tracks and some of the car shows it is on our blog page.
It is a great love of Jeff's to take an old classic and turn it into a beatiful thing as long as you don't compromise its original form, and you put some finesse of power under the hood.
MUSCLE WORK AT THE SHOP
Work on the Evening Orchid Malibu SS is finally completed the 496 Stroker 650 HP is on the street and driving and its is a blast. It was quite the handful to finish but quite worth it in the end, especially with the changed 4.11 gear in the back that we decided in the end. Here are a few pics we took while we were lowering the engine in.
